PCG: Almost 200,000 outbound passengers seen in seaports during Holy Week 05.04.2026

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) reported that nearly 200,000 outbound passengers traveled through seaports nationwide during the Holy Week period, with 195,257 recorded as of April 4. This figure is comparable to Holy Week 2025, according to PCG spokesperson Captain Noemie Guirao-Cayabyab. The busiest ports were identified as Cebu, Batangas, Aklan, Iloilo, and Davao. The PCG had placed all its districts on heightened alert from March 28 to April 5 to manage the expected surge in sea travel. In addition to passenger monitoring, the PCG also reported 26 drowning incidents nationwide since March 28, a decrease from the previous year.
