People Power Party: 'Lee Jae-myung Administration to Double the Speed of Moon's Real Estate Failures, Only Fueling Instability' 05.07.2026

The People Power Party has strongly criticized the Lee Jae-myung administration's decision to designate Hwaseong Dongtan, Yongin Giheung, and Guri-si as land transaction permit zones, stating that it excessively repeats the failed regulatory policies of the Moon Jae-in administration. In a commentary, Chief Spokesperson Choi Bo-yun assessed that this measure is a faster and more aggressive reproduction of the Moon administration's 'regulation-centricism.' In particular, the party pointed out a high risk that the housing ladder for non-homeowners and newlyweds will be blocked, as a significant portion of the Seoul metropolitan area population is now subject to mortgage and transaction restrictions. Furthermore, they warned that such regulations are inducing a 'balloon effect'—shifting buying demand to neighboring areas such as Namyangju, Suwon, and Anyang—thereby only exacerbating instability in the real estate market. The People Power Party emphasized that the administration's arrogant attitude in attempting to control the market will ultimately lead to catastrophe.
