Peut-on manger du sucre tous les jours sans mettre sa santé en danger ? 23.02.2026

Consuming sugar in moderation is not inherently harmful, according to dietician Isabelle Proudy, who emphasizes that small daily sweet treats like a dessert or a square of chocolate are acceptable. The French National Food Safety Agency (Anses) recommends daily sugar intake limits, varying by age, with adults and adolescents advised not to exceed 100g, children aged 8-12 not more than 75g, and those aged 4-7 not more than 60g. Exceeding these limits regularly can lead to health issues such as diabetes, obesity, cardiovascular diseases, and certain cancers, with liquid sugar sources like sodas and fruit juices being particularly detrimental due to their rapid absorption. Conversely, a complete absence of sugar can also disrupt the body's natural metabolic processes.
