The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) quietly approved three new PFAS pesticides last week, adding to two approved in November 2025, for a total of five during the second Trump administration. This approval rate is a significant increase from the single PFAS pesticide approved during the Biden presidency. The decision is particularly concerning given that nearly 40% of nonorganic fruits and vegetables grown in California, which supplies nearly half of the nation's vegetables and over three-quarters of its fruits and nuts, already contain traces of PFAS pesticides.
