PH’s Paloh candidate Dr Ruban hospitalised over slipped disc 07.07.2026

Dr. A Ruban, the Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidate for the Paloh seat in the upcoming Johor state elections, was hospitalized in Batu Pahat at noon today. His campaign manager, Abdul Majid Abd Aziz, confirmed that the 42-year-old DAP committee member was admitted due to complications from a slipped disc. Ruban has a documented history of spinal issues and has undergone previous surgery, but the recurring pain was likely triggered by the strenuous campaign schedule and frequent walkabouts. Despite the medical setback, his condition is reported as non-critical, with an expected discharge within one to two days. The Paloh seat is currently a four-cornered contest involving PH, Perikatan Nasional, an independent, and Barisan Nasional. PH machinery intends to continue community engagement to ensure Ruban’s manifesto reaches voters during his recovery.
