Manchester City midfielder Phil Foden has reached an agreement in principle on a new contract extending his stay at the club until the summer of 2030, with an additional one-year option. This commitment arrives despite the 25-year-old’s recent struggles with form and fitness following his 2023-24 Player of the Year performance. The news coincides with a challenging period for Pep Guardiola’s side, who recently drew 3-3 against Everton at Hill Dickinson Stadium. Despite a late equalizer from Jeremy Doku, City now trails Premier League leaders Arsenal by five points with only four games remaining. While Foden has scored 10 goals in 46 appearances this season, his limited starting opportunities have raised concerns regarding his future international prospects for the upcoming World Cup.
