Philippines’ August PMI grows at fastest pace in nearly 10 years 01.09.2026

The Philippines' manufacturing sector experienced its strongest growth in nearly ten years in August, according to S&P Global. The Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) jumped to 54.9 from 51.8 in July, marking the fourth consecutive month of expansion and the fastest pace since December 2016. This growth was fueled by a significant acceleration in new orders, which reached a six-month high due to new product launches, higher repeat business, and an expanded customer base. International sales also improved, with new export orders rising for the first time in six months. Production output increased at its fastest rate since December 2016, supported by improved underlying demand and greater production efficiency.
