Piercingstudio in Coevorden sluit na oorinfecties bij 150 klanten 23.02.2026

Piercingstudio LM Piercings in Coevorden has permanently closed its physical store and piercing services, effective immediately, after approximately 150 customers reported ear infections linked to a specific aftercare spray. The Erasmus MC identified the resistant bacterium Pseudomonas aeruginosa in the "Nazorgspray" and "Nazorgspray met Tea Tree Oil," which can cause redness, swelling, and pus discharge, particularly in cartilage piercings. The GGD in Drenthe and the NVWA had issued warnings on February 11th regarding the spray, which was sold in-store, via the studio's webshop, and on platforms like bol.com. The studio's webshop will remain operational, but the GGD urges anyone experiencing symptoms or seeing an abscess after using the spray to contact their doctor, anticipating more affected individuals may come forward.
