PM calls for harassment-free, citizen-friendly services in govt offices 06.05.2026

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman urged deputy commissioners to foster a people-oriented administration, emphasizing the need for faster, transparent, and harassment-free services for citizens. Addressing the Bangladesh Administrative Service Association's Annual Conference-2026 in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, Agargaon, he stressed that public trust is built through transparency, accountability, and respectful treatment of citizens at government offices. The prime minister highlighted the importance of utilizing the country's demographic dividend by developing a skilled workforce and also underscored the significance of upholding family and national values. He reminded officials that citizen perception of the government is shaped by their interactions at public offices, advocating for humane behavior, especially towards vulnerable groups. The conference concluded on May 3 following four days of sessions with ministers and President Mohammed Shahabuddin.
