PNP thwarts ‘copycat crime’ at Leyte school 25.06.2026

The Philippine National Police averted a potential school shooting and stabbing incident at Tolosa National High School in Leyte, Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla announced Thursday. The threat was uncovered after Senator Bam Aquino received information and alerted Remulla on Wednesday night at 8 p.m. By 11 p.m., authorities located the 14-year-old female student suspected of planning the attack. Remulla said the girl intended to commit a “copycat crime,” mirroring the Tacloban school shooting that occurred just days earlier.
