The South African Police Service (SAPS) has declared itself fully prepared to maintain law and order ahead of the June 30 ultimatum issued by anti-illegal immigrant groups for undocumented foreign nationals to depart the country. During a briefing in Pretoria led by Acting National Police Commissioner Lt-Gen Puleng Dimpane, provincial and divisional commissioners presented operational plans to Acting Minister Firoz Cachalia. The plans aim to ensure all demonstrations remain safe, secure, and peaceful. Cachalia urged swift and decisive responses to any acts of incitement, violence, intimidation, or criminality, and expressed satisfaction with the measures in place.
