Police say destruction of marijuana plantation has been completed and that André Fernandes found remains 03.07.2026

The Civil Police of the State of Ceará (PCCE) completed the destruction and incineration of 290,000 marijuana plants in Acopiara, in the interior, on Thursday (2). The corporation refuted the complaint made by Federal Deputy André Fernandes, who accused the Government of Ceará of burying the drugs instead of burning them. According to the PCCE, the technique used by the Fire Department involves burning the plants in trenches using gasoline and diesel oil, followed by covering them with soil to prevent the fire from spreading. The police state that Fernandes found only remains of the plantation and other plants on the land. The operation involved the participation of several security forces and state agencies.
