Police search home and office of Vilnius city administration chief 07.05.2026

Police conducted searches on Thursday at the home and office of Adomas Bužinskas, the director of the Vilnius city municipality administration, as part of a pre-trial investigation into the application of the capital's street design standard. Bužinskas stated the investigation concerns a street standard approved five years ago, which he signed as deputy director. The Supreme Administrative Court ruled in 2024 that the standard was not legally binding due to a lack of publication. Bužinskas claims he was unaware of the investigation, having never received a summons, and was on holiday during the raid, during which officers seized his grandmother's tablet. The Economic Crimes Investigation Board of the Vilnius County Police is leading the probe, focusing on potential abuse of office.
