Politiebureau Gaasperdam verhuist naar Amsterdam-Duivendrecht, 'ernstige zorgen' bij PvdA 06.03.2026

The PvdA party in Amsterdam has expressed serious concerns and is seeking clarification from the city council regarding the relocation of the police team from the Gaasperdam police station at Remmerdenplein to a facility in Amsterdam-Duivendrecht. PvdA council members Lian Heinhuis and Farley Asruf are worried about the impact on police accessibility, community policing, and overall safety in Gaasperdam and surrounding areas, emphasizing the undesirability of a fundamental service like a police station disappearing from a neighborhood's core. They are inquiring whether the mayor and aldermen were aware of and consulted on this decision, and if alternative locations within Gaasperdam were considered, alongside an investigation into the consequences of the move. A police spokesperson confirmed the team's relocation to Pieter Braaijweg in Amsterdam-Duivendrecht, stating the Remmerdenplein building will remain police property but lose its public function, while a search for a new public-facing police station in Gaasperdam is ongoing. The exact date of the relocation has not yet been announced.
