Politiebureau Gaasperdam verhuist naar Duivendrecht, 'ernstige zorgen' bij PvdA 06.03.2026

The PvdA party in Amsterdam has expressed serious concerns and is seeking clarification from the city council regarding the relocation of the police station from Remmerdenplein in Gaasperdam, Zuidoost, to a new facility in Duivendrecht. PvdA council members Lian Heinhuis and Farley Asruf learned of the move and are worried about its impact on police accessibility, community relations, and safety in Gaasperdam and surrounding areas. They deem it undesirable for a fundamental service like a police station to leave the heart of a neighborhood, potentially affecting trust, visibility, and ease of access for residents. The council members are inquiring if the mayor and aldermen were aware of and involved in the decision-making process, and if alternative locations within Gaasperdam were considered. A police spokesperson confirmed the team's move to Pieter Braaijweg in Duivendrecht, stating that the Remmerdenplein building will remain police property but will lose its public function, while efforts are underway to find a new public-facing police station in Gaasperdam. The exact date of the relocation has not yet been announced.
