Major League Baseball (MLB) has announced a new partnership with prediction market platform Polymarket, designating Polymarket as its official prediction market partner. This agreement, revealed on Thursday, grants Polymarket exclusive access to official MLB data and the right to use league logos. The deal also includes brand exposure for Polymarket at MLB games and across the league's digital platforms. Concurrently, MLB signed a memorandum of understanding with CFTC chairman Michael Selig, establishing a framework for information sharing between the league and the regulatory agency regarding baseball and prediction markets. This move follows MLB's previous concerns about the integrity of prediction markets and is framed by league officials as a measure to uphold integrity standards. The partnership comes as Polymarket experiences a surge in activity following the CFTC's easing of regulatory restrictions in September, enabling its operation in the U.S.
