À Port-en-Bessin, les petites mains d’Ocean Industrie fabriquent les filets de la pêche à la coquille Saint-Jacques 20.02.2026

In Port-en-Bessin, Normandy, Ocean Industrie is a vital manufacturer of equipment for the scallop fishing industry, a sector for which the region is the leading French producer. The company, located in Commes, Calvados, crafts essential gear including dredges, nets with specific mesh sizes, and knives, catering to boats from Boulogne-sur-Mer to Granville. Jean-Pierre Brunet, who has led Ocean Industrie for three years, has significantly expanded its workforce from 8 to 48 employees across Port-en-Bessin and Cherbourg, leveraging the potential of scallop fishing. This expansion has allowed the company to meet continuous demand for new equipment and repairs, with peak needs occurring in the spring before the fishing season reopens in October. Ocean Industrie also engages in ship repair and construction, recently working on the superstructure for the En-ma, a scallop vessel damaged by fire in May 2025.
