The Porto City Council is expected to approve financial support of up to 765 thousand euros for the Merchants' Association to implement this year's Christmas lights. This amount is intended to cover the costs of the holiday decorations, which will once again include the giant Christmas tree in front of the City Hall (Paços do Concelho). In addition to this sum, the municipality will also grant an exemption from municipal fees for the necessary licenses, with a maximum value of 150 thousand euros.
