Presidente promulga decreto da AR que altera Regime Jurídico para o Ensino Superior 07.07.2026

O Presidente da República, António José Seguro, promulgou hoje o decreto da Assembleia da República que altera o Regime Jurídico das Instituições de Ensino Superior (RJIES). Esta medida, aprovada pela AR em 8 de maio, substitui a legislação vigente desde 2007 e abrange também alterações à Lei de Bases do Sistema Educativo e ao financiamento do ensino superior. O novo modelo jurídico permite a fusão entre universidades e politécnicos, além da integração de instituições privadas em públicas. As universidades poderão agora oferecer Cursos Técnicos Superiores Profissionais, enquanto os institutos politécnicos podem converter-se em universidades politécnicas, como ocorre com o Instituto Politécnico do Porto. Adicionalmente, a nova lei unifica a designação de liderança, estabelecendo que o termo "Reitor" será a única designação para os dirigentes de instituições universitárias e politécnicas.
