Following the successful conclusion of the 7th General Election, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has called for a national focus on achieving a 10.2% economic growth rate for the 2018 E.C. fiscal year, a target he aims to make the highest in Africa. With the federal and regional government leadership now fully operational, the administration is prioritizing this economic objective with only a month and five days remaining until the fiscal year ends on July 7. This focus was highlighted during the inauguration of the Entoto to Kechene Medhanealem urban renewal project, a part of the Sheger Project. The Prime Minister praised the public's dedication to the democratic process during the elections and noted that the urban renewal project, completed by local youth and artists, is transforming informal settlements into a safe, pedestrian-friendly environment, with plans for further expansion and river purification.
