PRIME Muhoho Kenyatta reveals Sh20bn NCBA ownership 06.05.2026

Muhoho Kenyatta has emerged as the largest individual shareholder in NCBA Group, holding 227.3 million shares valued at Sh20 billion, representing the most significant disclosed personal fortune on the Nairobi Securities Exchange. This revelation, made in a May 4 circular concerning Nedbank Group's potential 66 percent acquisition of NCBA, details Muhoho's direct and indirect shareholding through investment vehicles. His stake, which includes 12.7 million directly owned shares and a larger interest via the Kenyatta family’s associated Enke Investments, could indicate a substantial overall family holding. Muhoho's anticipated dividend earnings of Sh1.6 billion for the year ending December 2025 surpass those of other prominent shareholders, including Equity Group CEO James Mwangi and I&M Group director Suresh Shah. The proposed Nedbank acquisition offers shareholders a combination of cash and Nedbank shares, diversifying their investments into the Johannesburg Stock Exchange.
