Private sector adds 122,000 jobs in May, above expectations, ADP says 03.06.2026

Private sector companies added 122,000 jobs in May, exceeding economists' expectations of 117,000, according to ADP's National Employment report released on Wednesday. This figure represents a positive surge, with education and health services leading job creation with 57,000 positions, followed by trade, transportation, and utilities adding 36,000. Hiring was noted as more widespread than in recent years, with small businesses, employing fewer than 50 people, contributing significantly by adding 67,000 jobs. The prior month's job gain was revised downward to 105,000. Despite losses in information and natural resources/mining sectors, the overall labor market shows sustained momentum heading into the summer.
