Prohibition auf dem CDU-Parteitag: Das Alkoholverbot hält nur bis 19 Uhr 20.02.2026

At the CDU party congress in Stuttgart, a temporary alcohol ban was implemented at exhibitor stands, requested by party leader Friedrich Merz to ensure delegates remained focused on the agenda and in the plenary hall until the end of sessions. Despite the initial compliance, with stands offering only non-alcoholic beverages like juice, coffee, and alcohol-free wine, the prohibition proved short-lived. Minutes after Merz's re-election as party chairman around 7 PM, exhibitors began bringing out beer and wine, with delegates expressing relief and anticipation for alcoholic drinks. The ban, intended to maintain order and punctuality, faced criticism from members who viewed it as overly restrictive, but ultimately, celebrations commenced with alcohol following Merz's re-election and the conclusion of key events.
