Projet d’attentat déjoué à Lille : les deux adolescents de 16 ans mis en examen 21.02.2026

In February 2026, two 16-year-old adolescents were arrested in Lille, Nord, for plotting an attack, an operation confirmed by the National Anti-Terrorist Prosecutor's Office (PNAT). The DGSI, France's internal security agency, thwarted the plot, leading to the teenagers being indicted for criminal association with the aim of preparing crimes against persons. One of the youths, who expressed a fascination with jihadist propaganda and figures, admitted to planning a violent action targeting a major Lille shopping center or concert hall using a stolen firearm and had acquired chemicals for combustion tests. The other teenager is suspected of reinforcing his radical convictions. One adolescent is in provisional detention, while the other is under judicial supervision.
