Prominent Malaysian lawyer Tan Sri V. Jeyaratnam passed away peacefully at his residence this morning due to natural causes at the age of 101. Mior Faridalathrash Wahid, a former Perak police chief and lawyer, confirmed his death. Jeyaratnam, born in 1925, was a significant figure in the Malaysian legal community, holding important roles in various professional and civic organizations throughout his long career. A wake is scheduled for tomorrow at the Church of St Michael in Ipoh, with the funeral service to follow on Saturday. He is survived by his three children and two grandchildren. His wife, Dr. Rajamalar Jeyaratnam, preceded him in death in 2008.
