Prosecuted former Motol director Ludvík fails as Constitutional Court rejects his complaint 07.07.2026

The Constitutional Court today rejected part of the complaint filed by Miloslav Ludvík, the former director of the Motol University Hospital. The complaint concerned court decisions regarding his detention and the subsequent imposition of non-custodial measures. Reporting judge Veronika Křesťanová stated that the crucial factor is not the time elapsed between the detention decision and the imposition of measures, but the actual time Ludvík spent in custody. The portion of the complaint directed against the criminal prosecution itself was rejected because the court had previously dealt with similar motions twice without success. Ludvík, who denies guilt in the corruption case, stated that he will appeal to the European Court of Human Rights due to the violation of his rights. According to the police, Ludvík, along with former deputy Pavel Budinský, allegedly accepted bribes from hospital suppliers to secure contracts. This case also involves other individuals and companies.
