The Socialist Party (PS) will not form national agreements with La France insoumise (LFI) for the first round of municipal elections on March 15. PS Secretary General Pierre Jouvet stated that any potential alliances with LFI candidates in the second round, on March 22, would only be considered in rare circumstances and contingent upon LFI candidates clarifying their movement's stance on political violence. This position follows accusations against several LFI associates in the fatal assault of nationalist activist Quentin Deranque on February 12 in Lyon. Jouvet emphasized that the responsibility for clarifying these positions lies with LFI, not the PS.
