Psychologists warn that children may experiment more online during holidays 05.07.2026

According to psychology experts, increased time spent on the internet during holidays among children and adolescents can lead to serious psychological problems. Psychologist Kateřina Lukavská from the Faculty of Education at Charles University warns that excessive use of digital networks increases the risk of anxiety and feelings of inferiority, and deepens feelings of loneliness or dependency on the virtual world. Furthermore, the holiday schedule motivates young users to experiment more frequently and seek out riskier online content. Experts emphasize that mere bans or strict parental control are insufficient to prevent these negative phenomena. Instead of restrictive measures, parents should focus on open communication with their children, sharing their digital experiences, and, above all, organizing joint activities that steer children away from dangerous online behavior and strengthen their psychological stability.
