Purbaya Unseals Tiffany & Co, 3 Stores Can Operate Again 08.06.2026

Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa officially unsealed three Tiffany & Co stores in Jakarta on Monday, June 8, 2026, after the company agreed to comply with government regulations and settle its customs and tax obligations. This action follows the Directorate General of Customs and Excise sealing the stores in February 2026 due to alleged import violations, including failure to declare all high-value goods and indications of under-invoicing. Purbaya emphasized that the government does not intend to hinder investors but stressed the importance of regulatory compliance to prevent similar actions from recurring, and the fine of Rp 97.49 billion, consisting of a Rp 78.5 billion penalty plus import duties and taxes, remains in effect as agreed.
