Malaysia has reported a stable and declining Covid-19 trend this year, with no deaths recorded up to Epidemiological Week 19/2026. Despite a slight increase in cases in EW19 compared to EW18, the Ministry of Health (MOH) states the situation remains under control, with most cases presenting mild symptoms and not requiring hospitalization. While new subvariants have been detected through genomic sequencing, they do not indicate a potential for a severe infection wave. The MOH is enhancing traveller screening at entry points and collaborating with border agencies for early detection and response. Covid-19 is now managed as a common respiratory tract infection, and the public is advised to maintain hygiene, mask when symptomatic or in crowds, and get vaccinated, especially high-risk groups. This comes as Singapore monitors a rise in its Covid-19 cases.
