Queen Elizabeth's 2012 Olympics Outfit Goes on Display (Next to Her Skydiving Stunt Double's!) 09.04.2026

An exhibition at The King’s Gallery, Buckingham Palace, titled "Queen Elizabeth II: Her Life in Style," features over 300 items from the late monarch's wardrobe, including the gown she wore for a memorable skit opening the 2012 London Summer Olympics. This peach crystal and lace gown is displayed alongside the identical ensemble worn by her skydiving stunt double, Gary Connery, who parachuted into the London Stadium. The skit, directed by Danny Boyle and featuring Daniel Craig as James Bond, saw the Queen deliver the line, "Good evening, Mr. Bond." The exhibition, running from April 10 to October 18, showcases fashion as a tool of diplomacy and a reflection of the UK's industry throughout her 70-year reign.
