Raouna: We will invest the capital from the Cypriot EU Presidency to strengthen ourselves 07.07.2026

The Deputy Minister for European Affairs, Mariena Raouna, stated on Tuesday, following the meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Foreign and European Affairs, that the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the EU concluded with significant achievements. Ms. Raouna stated that Cyprus achieved high success rates, completing 27 out of 32 legislative files, with a success rate of 85%. The Presidency participated in 70 negotiations and 32 legislative files, strengthening the EU's autonomy in sectors such as defense, economy, and energy. The Deputy Minister emphasized that the capital gained from this success will be invested to strengthen the Republic of Cyprus and its citizens, as well as to be utilized in critical negotiations, such as the Multiannual Financial Framework. This success was characterized as the result of a national mission and collective effort.
