The resignation of Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu, announced Friday, July 3, after eight months in office, has generated diverse reactions in the public sphere. Former Prime Minister Ion Sturza stated that he is not surprised by Munteanu's departure, considering him to have been an “emergency solution” from the start. Sturza emphasized that the position of Prime Minister is a political one, not a technical one, and that the Republic of Moldova needs people trained in the country, who have grown within parties and have experience in electoral campaigns, rather than “miracle solutions” brought from the diaspora or international organizations.
