Red heat warning extended to 12 districts 03.07.2026

The IPMA extended the red heat warning to 12 districts of mainland Portugal this Friday, including Lisbon, Porto, Braga, and Coimbra, with most remaining under alert until Sunday. Maximum temperatures could reach 44°C, with minimums between 24°C and 28°C, and wind gusts may reach up to 70 km/h in highland areas. The Government declared a state of alert on Thursday, banning the use of machinery in agricultural activities to reduce the risk of rural fires, which are at maximum or very high danger levels across nearly the entire mainland.
