Remaniement : Rachida Dati perturbe l’« ajustement gouvernemental » voulu par Sébastien Lecornu 23.02.2026

Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu's planned government reshuffle, intended to fill ministerial vacancies before the February 22nd pre-election reserve period, has been delayed until at least Wednesday, February 25th. The postponement is attributed to the anticipated tabling of a no-confidence motion by the Rassemblement National (RN) concerning the energy policy decree published on February 12th. A reshuffle immediately preceding this parliamentary vote was deemed politically unwise, as it could have been perceived as a sign of executive disregard for the National Assembly. The vacancies arose from Rachida Dati's candidacy for Mayor of Paris and Charlotte Parmentier-Lecocq's return to the National Assembly to avoid a by-election.
