Report: Texas led FCC complaints over Bad Bunny Super Bowl performance 03.06.2026

Texas led the nation in Federal Communications Commission (FCC) complaints concerning Bad Bunny's Super Bowl LVIII halftime performance, with 2,155 complaints filed nationwide, according to a WIRED report. Texas, Florida, and California submitted the highest volume of complaints. A significant portion of these complaints, many referencing "vulgar" lyrics and Bad Bunny's name, expressed concerns about the performance not being family-friendly, particularly due to its Spanish-language lyrics and explicit content. Multiple complaints highlighted the perceived misleading advertising by NBC, which allegedly promoted the performance as "wholesome and family-friendly," and voiced worries about children's exposure to such content. The Super Bowl itself remains the second-most-watched broadcast in history.
