Île-de-France Mobilités, in collaboration with RATP and SNCF, has unveiled significant upgrades at the RER B maintenance site in Massy, Essonne, as part of a broader plan to enhance the line's punctuality. This initiative, launched in October 2023, involved a €200 million investment to modernize the Massy technicentre, which became operational in March. Key improvements include new equipment and infrastructure, such as a "vérin en fosse" in the bogie removal hall, which reduces maintenance time for heavy mechanical parts from 7-8 hours to 5-6 hours, facilitating 400-500 bogie removal operations annually. These efforts have already contributed to a punctuality rate exceeding 89% in 2023, the highest in a decade, with a target of 90% by 2027.
