Residents of the Pasteleira neighborhood, represented by the civic movement Porto Cidade Responsável, are demanding that the Government release a technical study justifying the relocation of the assisted consumption room from the Pasteleira neighborhood to the Aleixo area. Alberto Baldaque, spokesperson for the movement, expressed surprise at statements made by the Secretary of State for Health, Ana Povo, regarding a technical opinion requested from ICAD, claiming that only a generic study from the previous administration exists. The movement has sent a formal letter to the Secretary of State and to ICAD requesting an updated and comparative study—one that analyzes user accessibility—and an independent technical opinion, following protests from Aleixo residents against the installation on June 26.
