Retail trade down 0.3% in the euro area, 0.1% in the EU 06.08.2026

According to Eurostat, the European Union’s statistical office, retail trade volumes experienced a monthly decline in June 2026. Seasonally adjusted data shows a 0.3% decrease in the euro area and a 0.1% drop across the EU compared to May 2026. This monthly downturn was led by significant falls in Finland (-1.5%), Romania (-1.2%), and Germany (-1.1%), while Luxembourg (+2.5%), Portugal (+1.7%), Croatia, and Sweden (both +1.5%) recorded the largest increases.
