Mort de Quentin Deranque : Rima Hassan proche de la Jeune Garde ? « Je n’ai jamais fait appel » à ce collectif antifa 19.02.2026

Following the death of 23-year-old nationalist Quentin Deranque on February 12th, Eurodeputy Rima Hassan of La France Insoumise (LFI) has faced controversy regarding alleged ties to the antifascist collective "La Jeune Garde," which was dissolved in June 2025. Social media posts have circulated two photographs, one showing Hassan with LFI deputy Raphaël Arnault, a co-founder of La Jeune Garde, and another with members of the Lyon section of the group. Hassan has repeatedly denied ever calling upon La Jeune Garde for protection, stating that LFI's security service is solely responsible for her safety since her election in July 2024. Both photos were taken during election campaigns: June 8, 2024, in Lyon during the European elections, and June 28, 2024, in Avignon during the snap legislative elections, where Hassan was supporting Arnault. Hassan contextualized the presence of antifascist militants by highlighting numerous attacks by far-right extremist groups, citing 102 such attacks in Lyon since 2010, a figure corroborated by LFI coordinator Manuel Bompard.
