Rohingya man pleads not guilty to dangerous driving charge linked to fatal crash in Marang 04.06.2026

A 20-year-old Rohingya man, Shah Dullah Abul Hashim, pleaded not guilty in the Marang Magistrate’s Court on June 4 to a dangerous driving charge. The charge stems from a fatal accident on May 27 that resulted in the death of motorcyclist Saifullah Isyraf Shamsudin, 27. Abul Hashim is accused of driving a Proton Saga dangerously, causing a collision with a Yamaha RXZ motorcycle at approximately 6 pm near Kampung Rusila, along Jalan Kuala Terengganu-Kuantan at Kilometre 12.5. If convicted under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, he faces imprisonment of five to 10 years and a fine of RM20,000 to RM50,000. The court set bail at RM6,000 with one surety and scheduled the case for mention on July 8, with an order for Abul Hashim to report to the police monthly.
