House prices in Romania rose by 7.8% in Q1 2026, according to Eurostat's House Price Index published on July 2. This increase was well above the 4.7% rise in the euro area and the 5.1% hike across the EU overall. Among the 25 EU member states reporting annual increases, the largest gains were in Portugal (17.8%), Bulgaria (14.8%), and Slovakia (14.4%). Only Finland saw a decline, with prices falling 2%. The Romanian figure represents an acceleration from the 6.7% annual increase recorded in Q4 2025.
