Rosmah sues Harith over Pontianak, Pocong joke 14.07.2026

Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, wife of former Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, has initiated legal proceedings against comedian Harith Iskander over a stand-up routine performed on January 17 in Melaka. In her statement of claim, Rosmah alleges that during the "Harith Iskander: The Outspoken Comedy Tour," Harith displayed images of mythical creatures—Toyol, Pontianak, and Pocong—before showing her photograph. She claims he joked about the "scariest" figure in Malaysian mythology, portraying her as more frightening than these entities, which she argues amounts to body shaming and malicious damage to her reputation. The suit contends that the routine implied she was frightening, evil, inhuman, and unworthy of respect, with clips shared on TikTok attracting over 219,700 views, exacerbating the harm.
