Live 13 Millionen Menschen auf Hilfe angewiesen: Rotes Kreuz spricht von „schlimmster Situation“ seit Kriegsbeginn in der Ukraine 19.02.2026

The ongoing conflict in Ukraine has created a dire humanitarian crisis, with the German Red Cross reporting that nearly 13 million people require assistance due to an extreme winter and destroyed energy infrastructure, leaving many homes with temperatures as low as five to seven degrees Celsius. This situation is described as the "worst" since the war began nearly four years ago. The German Red Cross, in collaboration with the Ukrainian Red Cross, is providing generators, donations, and personnel, with operations extending to cities like Kyiv, Odesa, and Zaporizhzhia. Support includes direct survival aid, a home care service that conducted 175,000 visits last year, mobile health stations, and psychological support. Meanwhile, Sweden has announced a new military aid package worth approximately 1.3 billion euros, including air defense systems, drones, and long-range missiles, bringing its total military assistance since February 2022 to nearly ten billion euros.
