Rätselhafte Hai-Sichtung vor Urlaubsinsel: Zwei-Meter-Raubtier schwimmt durch Hafenbecken 23.02.2026

An approximately two-meter-long blue shark was sighted in the harbor of Ibiza on Monday, causing concern among authorities and tourists. The shark, identified as a blue shark (Prionace glauca), was observed swimming slowly and appearing disoriented between yachts and boats in the Es Botafoch harbor basin. Witnesses noted a visible injury to its upper dorsal fin, leading experts to suspect this may be the reason for its unusual behavior of seeking sheltered waters. This species is native to the Balearic waters but typically avoids human activity. The shark was reportedly sighted again in early February near the shore at Ses Figueretes beach, prompting authorities to advise caution to swimmers and boaters due to the potential unpredictability of injured animals.
