The Rural Energy Agency (REA) is launching a concessional loan scheme to support the construction of fuel service stations in rural Tanzania, with the first eight loan agreements set to be signed this month. The program, which has attracted 150 applications, is designed to improve fuel safety standards and increase access to quality petroleum products in villages and small towns where residents often rely on informal and dangerous fuel supply chains.
