Rush's comeback shines with Anika Nilles' brilliance 08.06.2026

Rush launched their Fifty Something Tour at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California, on June 7, marking their first tour since 2015 and their first since the passing of drummer Neil Peart in 2020. The emotional comeback concert featured founding members Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson performing 24 songs spanning their career, alongside new drummer Anika Nilles. The show opened with an extended video montage and the rarely played "Xanadu," captivating the sold-out crowd. Nilles, a 43-year-old German drummer, impressed with her precise and powerful performance, skillfully replicating the complex drumming patterns of Neil Peart. The tour, with 58 dates across the U.S. and Mexico, and a European leg in January, has added dates due to high demand, indicating a strong resurgence in fan interest.
