Russia launched a wave of missile strikes on Kyiv early Tuesday, killing at least two people and wounding seven, after a three-day pause in attacks ordered by President Vladimir Putin. The fresh explosions triggered fires and car alarms across the Ukrainian capital, with authorities reporting damage to a five-storey apartment block in the Solomianskyi district and vehicles catching fire in the Podilskyi district. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said people were trapped in a residential building, while the Ukrainian air force confirmed a missile attack and urged residents to take shelter. Air alerts were active in a dozen regions across Ukraine, and Poland announced "aviation operations" had commenced following the Russian attack.
