Safaricom Plc has announced a significant increase in its total dividend to Sh2 per share for the year ending March 31, 2026, a 66.7 percent rise, following a 67.3 percent surge in net profit to Sh99.7 billion. This growth was fueled by robust M-Pesa performance in Kenya, with revenues climbing 13.4 percent to Sh182.7 billion, and a substantial reduction in losses in Ethiopia to Sh21.2 billion. The proposed payout, which includes a final dividend of Sh1.15 and an interim dividend of Sh0.85, brings the total shareholder distribution to Sh80 billion. Kenyan operations saw profitability rise 24.7 percent to Sh119.7 billion, with mobile data and fixed services also contributing positively.
