Saint-Valentin 2026 : Attention, lâcher d’arnaques romantiques prévu ce 14 février 13.02.2026

As Valentine's Day 2026 approaches, McAfee warns of a surge in romantic scams, exacerbated by AI-generated fake profiles. A recent study reveals that 43% of French individuals have encountered fake or AI-generated profiles on dating apps and social media, with those under 35 being particularly vulnerable. These deceptive relationships can lead to significant emotional distress, shame, and a loss of trust, with 95% of victims reporting lasting impacts. Scammers often employ "love bombing" tactics, inundating targets with affection before requesting financial assistance, a situation 49% of French people have experienced, and 63% have fallen victim to, losing money. McAfee advises caution, recommending video calls to verify identities and avoiding sharing sensitive financial information or sending money to virtual acquaintances.
